Competitions

UKFM:

What is the UKFM?

The United Kingdom Federation of Majorettes began 34 years ago to promote friendship among baton twirlers across the country.

The UKFM runs competitions throughout the year, finishing each year with the National Championships at Pontins Camber sands, Sussex.

The Russellettes always try to abide by this Motto and encourage all our members to support each other.

The UKFM also run training seminars and members can take grades at all levels.

UKFM grades are the only Majorette grades recognised by the "Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme"

UKFM National Championships

The UKFM Nationals are held at Camber Sands:

What is it all about?

Majorettes and their families stay at Pontins Holiday Camp, Camber Sands, Sussex

What happens there?

During the day majorettes compete in competitions with all the other troupes in the UKFM, in the evenings we Party and have fun. This is great chance for the members to interact and form friendships with majorettes from all over the country.

Who can go?

We encourage all our members to go if they can. Competitions are for all standards, from beginner to advanced, and all age groups from tiny tots to adult.

Dates for 2010 Nationals:

Friday 14 May to Sunday 16th May

UKBTA

What is the UKBTA?

UKBTA stands for The United Kingdom Baton Twirlers Association

This federation is much smaller than UKFM and runs local competitions and seminars throughout the year at the Sydney Russell School in Dagenham. They do not have any national competitions; all their competitions are prize on the day.

These competitions are ideal for inexperienced majorettes and we encourage our members to enter UKBTA competitions to gain experience.
